History and tradition

Duck hunting in Spain is a centuries-old tradition deeply rooted in the sustainable use of wetlands and the country's cultural heritage. At Corsini Hunts we organise duck shooting experiences on private lagoons less than an hour from Madrid, specialised in mallard and red-crested pochard, with a service and hospitality carefully cultivated over decades.

From ancient times, marshes, lagoons and river deltas have provided the ideal setting for this exciting form of waterfowl hunting.

Our hunting areas include pristine lagoons framed by lush vegetation, islands, reed beds and open waters, creating a rich and dynamic ecosystem perfect for ducks and a visually stunning duck shooting experience.

An unmatched duck shooting experience

The duck hunting season in Spain runs from September 15th to March 31st, offering both morning and afternoon shoots, tailored to the preference of each group. Every hunter is assisted by a loader and a secretary, ensuring a smooth and focused experience.

The action unfolds from fixed pegs, with the possibility of rotating during the shoot. Ducks fly solo, in pairs, or in small flocks, offering challenging shots from a wide range of angles, ideal for testing even the most experienced guns.

Comfort, tradition, and first-class service

After the shoot, retrieval is handled from boats with the help of trained dogs, ensuring efficiency and respect for the game. Onshore, hunters are welcomed in a rustic yet comfortable cabin by the lagoon, where breakfast is served before the hunt, followed by drinks and a traditional lunch after the shoot.

We operate with a network of 20 pegs, of which 4 to 12 are used per session, spaced far apart to maintain both safety and shooting quality. Every hunter has the space and quiet needed to fully enjoy their experience.

Why choose Corsini Hunts?

At Corsini Hunts we have dedicated decades to hunting in Spain, and duck shooting is one of the modalities where our attention to detail shows most clearly. We work with privately managed lagoons, hand-picked waterfowl dogs and a full-service approach designed for the discerning gun, whether local or international.

For us, waterfowl shooting is not just the flight: it is the logistics beforehand, the atmosphere at the lodge, the dog's work in cold water, the after-lunch stories and the human bond that grows among the guns. If you are looking for an authentic experience in a carefully managed setting with the finest Spanish sporting tradition, our duck shoots are your destination.

We also offer other modalities so you can design a full sporting trip: driven partridge shooting at La Flamenca, or a complete hunting experience in Madrid combining sport, culture and gastronomy.

Preguntas frecuentes

1When is duck hunting season in Spain?
The Spanish duck hunting season runs approximately from September 15th to March 31st, with October to February being the most active months. Exact dates vary by autonomous region and by the migratory conditions of each season. Contact our team for availability.
2What does a duck flight involve?
A flight is a shooting session in which the gun waits at a fixed peg on the shore or inside the lagoon. Ducks come over in small groups, in flocks or as singles, offering varied shots. After the flight, retrieval is carried out with boats and specialised waterfowl dogs.
3What is the difference between duck shooting and partridge shooting?
Duck shooting takes place on wetlands and requires work in water, retrieving dogs and specific equipment such as waders. Partridge shooting is practised in the open countryside as a driven shoot with fixed pegs and beaters. Both modalities complement each other, and many international guns combine them on the same trip.
4What permits do I need to hunt ducks in Spain?
Guns need a valid hunting licence in the relevant autonomous region, civil liability insurance and a firearms permit. International guns must meet additional requirements, which we handle fully at Corsini Hunts to simplify your arrival.
5Does the estate provide all the necessary equipment?
Yes. We offer a full-service experience: prepared pegs, secretaries, optional loaders, retrieving dogs, boats, cartridges, firearms management and lodge catering. All you need to do is arrive and enjoy it.
6Can I combine duck hunting with a Madrid experience?

Absolutely. Many international guns combine their duck shoots with a full Madrid hunting experience, which includes a stay at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, gastronomy, culture and exclusive shopping. It is the perfect way to blend sporting tradition with the finest side of the Spanish capital.

7Can I combine duck hunting with other hunting modalities?

Yes. Many guns combine ducks with red-legged partridge or big game hunting on the same trip. We design complete programmes that take full advantage of the proximity between our hunting areas and Madrid.
