What is partridge shooting like at La Flamenca?

Partridge shooting at La Flamenca Estate is a traditional driven-day experience on a professionally managed estate in Aranjuez, only 40 minutes from Madrid. With more than 60 different drives across 4,000 hectares and gamekeepers with generations of expertise, we offer the finest expression of Spanish red-legged partridge shooting for international guns.

In the cold clarity of dawn, with the sun barely brushing the stubble fields, the guns take their positions with an almost sacred respect for the ground. Our beaters, many of them sons and grandsons of former gamekeepers, guide the lines with the precision of those born to read the land. Here, shooting is not just a day in the field: it is an inherited ritual.

The shots are not only a matter of aim, but of elegance. The red-legged partridge, wild and elusive, rises like a flash of earth, cutting through the air with its low, nervous flight. Every clean shot is a gesture of heritage.

Later, as evening falls, the low fire, a glass of Marqués de Murrieta and the stories of the day weave the last light of the shoot. Because on our driven days we don't just take partridges: we capture moments that live on among the guns.

More than 50 years of red-legged partridge hunting in Spain tradition on a historic property just 40 minutes from Madrid.

Red-legged partridge and driven shooting

The red-legged partridge is the undisputed queen of Spanish small game, and driven shooting is the modality that best does it justice. No other species combines the courage of its flight, the intelligence of its escape and the beauty of its stamp so perfectly, and no other modality respects its demands with the elegance and technique of a traditional driven day.

Driven shooting: a centuries-old tradition

Driven partridge shooting is the most exclusive and ceremonial modality of Spanish small game. Beaters push the birds across the ground, driving them towards a line of guns placed on fixed pegs. It demands precision, technique, a sharp eye for the shot and impeccable organisation.

At Corsini Hunts we design each drive around the rhythm of the day, the wind, the topography and the level of the guns. Driven shooting is a collective art, a centuries-old choreography where the countryside, the beaters, the dogs and the birds move together to the rhythm of a shared sporting passion.

    FAQs

1When does the partridge season open in Spain?
The red-legged partridge season varies by autonomous region. At the La Flamenca Estate, in Aranjuez (Community of Madrid), we operate approximately from mid-October to late January, with November through January the most sought-after weeks. Contact our team for exact availability.
2What permits do I need to shoot in Spain?
Spanish residents need a valid hunting licence for the relevant autonomous region, civil liability insurance and a firearms permit. International guns must meet additional requirements depending on whether they are EU citizens or not. Our team handles the full process for our international guests.
3Does the estate provide all the equipment?
Yes. We offer a full-service experience: prepared pegs, beaters, secretaries, guides, cartridges, game recovery, meals and hospitality at the lodge. Guests only need to arrive and enjoy themselves.
4Can I combine partridge shooting with a Madrid trip?
Absolutely. La Flamenca's privileged location, only 40 minutes from the capital, makes it easy to combine your shoot with an exclusive Madrid experience: stay at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, gastronomy, culture and shopping.
5What other kinds of hunting do you offer besides partridge?

Besides driven red-legged partridge, we organise duck shoots in nearby wetlands and also big game hunting programmes for interested groups. Get in touch to discuss all the options available.

6Do you organise shoots for corporate groups?
Yes. We design private programmes for companies, business groups and institutional events. It is a distinctive alternative for incentives, client relations and exclusive gatherings.
    7How do I book a shoot?
You can fill out the booking form on this page or contact our team directly. We tailor every experience around your dates, number of guns and preferences.
